One of the the biggest problems with religions is that they don’t respect other views. In other words they aren’t tolerant of other religions or non religions. They want others to respect their religious views but will not allow others the same respect.
And they can’t because to believe their religion is to believe that any other way is sinful and that we must be brought into line with their thinking.
Religions are inherently intolerant of everything that doesn’t conform to their doctrine. For religions to be tolerant of each other is in direct conflict with their doctrine.
They are quick to demand religious freedom when it’s to their benefit. But not so when other peoples religious beliefs are in conflict with theirs. But this conflict is a necessary by product of religious freedom.
As an atheist I am happy to allow others to think and do as they please. As long as it doesn’t excessively or un necessarily interfere with my rights and freedoms. But since my ways are wrong in their eyes, they will not allow me the freedom to think or do as I please.
They demand the freedom to practice their religious beliefs but condemn me when I practice my non-religious beliefs.
